Improve my iTunes – Talent Scouting

Over the next few weeks i will meeting up with several groups about upcoming stage projects. I am already in talks with a number of groups about very interesting community projects for this summer which is great news. So i thought to myself i will call up some singers i know and… o yeah, that’s right they are 2000 miles away on the other-side of the Atlantic ocean. Now as i am sure you can imagine none of them would say no to a free flight but instead i think it would be nice for me to see what HRM has to offer in the way of talent.

I am searching for people aged 16-24 who enjoy performing and think they have a good singing voice. Now HRM is pretty big and everything is very spaced out (Well it is for someone who is from the UK). What i want is for people to send me demo tracks. Doesn’t matter how professional they are. Doesn’t matter if its something you have done with a PC mic and backing track or done in a studio. Send it to me! Then give it a week and see what happens. I will pop your tracks into my iTunes on to my iPod and then see what takes my fancy.

In my 5 years of Event Management i have listened/auditioned over 100 performers and i have seen some amazing talent in the British Isles. Now i am hoping that Canada is going to shine just like i am expecting it too.

You can send your track to im@srv.cc , if your email provider has issues with files larger than a few meg just pop it on rapidshare and include the link in your email. Make sure you also include a short bio in the email. your age, location. hobbies and interests. previous experience.  You can also include any online profiles you have like twitter and Facebook. It’s nice to know who i might me working with. Last but not least include a recent photograph once again just for curiosity purposes. Deadline is April 27th. Post any questions below using the form or to let me know you set me a track.

If this is your first visit to my blog read the about page, and my trip to nova scotia.

Don’t let me down. Thanks to the people who tweeted this. I appreciate it!

  • Tara

haha yea i don't pretend i can sing, most of the time i wont sing Christmas carols.

  • Yh every guitarist seems to play that. Strange... I kinda heard Annie sing on frog but wasn't really paying attention. Though i have heard Tara.. not difficult to outrun here lol

  • Christa

LOL. Well I didn't choose the song, the guy playing the guitar did, and he "auditioned" the girls at the party and then "persuaded" me to sing by encouraging my heavy drinking. I don't want to be in the media, I just want to know I'm better than my siblings!! haha. The guy "filming" on my digital camera was also VERY drunk and a friend of mine :)

  • Its funny that 1 out of 10 auditions i have done has been Evanescence. Everyone does it! Not that its a bad choice. Trust me after the crap i have heard i cant criticize you for that. Few rough notes. (Blame that on the alcohol) I have signed people in the past who don't sing as good as that. But its not all about the voice when it comes to being in the eye of the media. Who was filming (Was like being on a boat lol)

  • Christa

lmao. That is awesome. If you promise to criticize as little as possible, you can see my drunken singing at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...

  • I think i can 'better' that. Theres a video of me on Youtube singing on the toilet, reading a newspaper. Yup its true!

  • Christa

Wanna hear me sing really drunk and with a lot of mistakes? hahaha. If so I have a youtube video for you! I swear I can do better :P (I don't sing like my siblings btw in case you were worried)
