My search for raw talent continues across the Halifax area and i am receiving new tracks on a day to day basis which is just fantastic. The quality and the level of professionalism has been really impressive so thanks to everyone who has submmited and to those who are going to submit shortly.
April is coming to a close and during the month of May i will begin meeting the groups that have contacted me over the past few months so i expect things to get rather busy here on the blog. I am planning to meet with around 6 groups and about 8 individuals about projects that they have coming up or in the pipeline. I must say i am looking forward to meeting these people. Now that i have a rough idea on what kind of musical talent is in Halifax it would be nice to meet some of the people who work behind the scenes. If you have ever been involved with events or event management and you think you maybe interested in taking part in some of these upcoming projects please do let me know.
Many must be wondering why i want to meet with all these people. Well this is the story! I have been to and from Canada several times now with my partner Tara. In the UK my main line of work is Event Management. Here in Canada i am just a visitor at present so i not able to be employed without a lot of paperwork and a lot of hassle and at present its not a road we are going to go down. So you could call this my ‘testing the water stage’. I am trying to get a rough idea of what Nova Scotia would have to offer me in the way of event. During this time i am offering my time to groups so i can help them by using my experience as a former managing director of a national events organization. I must say so far most people have been ever so helpful. Every morning i wake up to more and more emails from new contacts and the Twitter crowd are really second to none! So i am going to spend the next few weeks digging through the rest of the tracks and emails sent to me and once my birthday has passed a week on Sunday i will get cracking.
