Summer Visit On Hold

I originally picked a photograph of a couple overlooking London in the rain armed with umbrellas for this post, but it was a bit of a cliché. I guess this photograph isn’t much better… Going back to the UK for the durration of the summer has been on the cards for quite a while and I had thought that following my commitments with the Blue Nose Marathon I would return to the UK this coming Saturday but things have changed and i will be staying in Halifax.
I still plan on going back to the UK this year but just not for the extended time I had envisioned. Following the Marathon I will be working on a number of new projects here in Halifax and then towards the end of the summer I will be launching the Haliwards 2011 with my first Canadian Advisory board that is already in the works. This change of plans will obviously affect some of my plans for 2010/2011 UK projects and I will inform those people on a need to know basis over the next few weeks.
This summer i will also be processing my permanent residency for here in Canada. Me and Tara have decided that Canada will be our home-base and i will travel to England when necessary. As you can imagine it’s a lengthy process and it makes more sense for me to be here in Canada with Tara while undergoing this process (even though it tends to take longer if you apply within Canada). Wish me luck! If everything goes to plan I should be a resident of Canada by the early part of next year which opens many more doors of opportunity without all the red tape.
While I am looking forward to spending most of the summer in Canada I will be sad not to be able to spend it at home. I hope to try and make a short trip back to Somerset very soon though. —but in the meantime i want to make the most of my summer on the east coast. Stay tuned!
